Kangerghati National Park

Founded in the year 1982, in the Kanger valley, the Kangerghati National Park is one of the premier tourist attractions of the area. Deer Mouse
Rarely found in these parts of the world Deer Mouse, is qui te secretive like other rodents. It is primarily active at night when it emerges from its nest to feed on many types of seeds, berries, acorns, fruits, and even insects and other small invertebrates. Deer mice usually make their nest in a cavity found inside a tree, stump, under logs and sometimes even in abandoned squirrel nests. Indravati National Park
A haven for wildlife enthusiasts,t he Indravati National Park is sprea d over a sprawling 2,799 sq.kms. The park dirives its name from the Indravati river which is towards the South east of the park.The entire park area consists of a series of hill ranges.Its beauty lies in its unique natural surrounding. Hill Mynah
The Hill mynah is a stout, glossy black bird with a white speculum on the wing and a yellow bill. There are two large yellow wattles on the nape and two small ones below the eye. It measures 12-15 inches. It lives in pairs or small groups on the margins of forests, building its nest high in the cavities of trees and feeding mainly on fruit.Described as the best talking bird in the world the absolute champion of mimics they can mimic the human voice and are able to talk in the same tones and clarity of speech as the voice they are mimicking, even outdoing the African grey parrot.
Sloth Bear
The Indravati National park serves as a refuge for the endangered Sloth Bear.Found in the forests of India and Sri Lanka, the sloth bear is a member of the bear family,but its long, sickle-shaped claws and lack of two incisors on the upper jaw earned this bears its name. The sloth bear is also the only bear to feed on termites and ants, and uses its long flexible nose to first blow into the termite or ant mound.It then sucks them into its mouth like a vacuum — a feeding technique that produces sounds which can be heard over 200 yards away. The sloth bear is also the only bear that carries its cubs on its back.

Spotted Deer (Chital)
Although Chital can be found across the entire country, the Indravati and Bairamgarh parks are some of the most famous parks for spotted deer.These deer can be seen in dense jungles as well as open grasslands. The main factor behind their location is the presence of water.The Chital is doubtlessly the most beautiful of all of the deer species. Watching them closely in our parks adds a special zing to your holiday.
Indravati Tiger Reserve
The tiger reserve gets its name from the Indravati river, which borders the protected area on the north, west and part of the south. The total area set aside for tigers is 2,799 sq. km., which forms part of an extensive green belt covering forest tracts of Chattisgarh, Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh. It is large and the best potential habitat for the wild buffalo.
The total area of the Tiger Reserve is 2799.086 sq. km. Apart from the endangered species of Tiger and Wild Buffalo, the reserve also is home to freshwater crocodiles, common monitor lizard, Indian chameleon, common krait, Indian rock python, cobra and Russell’s viper,leopard, striped hyena, wild dog, wolf, sloth bear, flying squirrel, Indian fox, spotted deer, sambar, barking deer, nilgai, wild pig, and gaur.
Forest Rest Houses are available at Pharsegarh, Sendra, Pengunda, Karkeli and Kutru .
